Tokyu Stay Kanazawa

Hotel is modern and great location near to the attractions. The room and toilet were more spacious than expected. Loved that there was a washer-dryer machine in the room, and the hotel provided the detergent. There was also a common laundry room for those who needed it. Bed was comfortable, and I liked that there was a seating area. Didn't realise before, but it was great to have a bigger trashbin in the toilet. Interesting to use the RFID room key to access the lift, and the level automatically lights up accordingly when you tap the keycard on the reader.

The hotel is well situated for sightseeing - you can go on foot - it's about 25 minutes to the train station and other major attractions are either close by or within a 30 minute walking distance. There's also a bus in front of the hotel, which I found convenient when going to the station. The room was comfortable and the washing machine in the room worked perfectly, and I also had a fridge, kettle, and microwave. Convenience stores are about 5-7 minutes walk away.

Excellent service, all in one washing machine/dryer in the room. Detergent inside machine so don’t need that. Takes a couple of hours but clothes come out almost wrinkle free. There’s a shoe dryer in the room, nice given the rainfall. Tea/coffee in the lobby along with breakfast. We don’t eat breakfast so can’t comment. We liked the small plastic bags to carry your coffee, much better than the cardboard holders back home. They do Takkyubin for luggage, worth the cost not to drag a suitcase around. Kanazawa castle park is about a 10 minute walk. I used Uber due to mobility issues and that was fine. Kanazawa Loop Bus (green right loop) bus stop is across the road. This is the longer of the two loop routes. Out the front, left and about 50m is the bus stop for the orange left loop. Main attractions are covered by the loop bus, but they can get crowded.

Breakfast was a great and delicious spread, with slight variations everyday. We chanced upon the summer festival on the last night of our stay, and it was a highlight because it was right outside our hotel lobby. Hotel staff were always warm and welcoming, and took a polaroid on our first day. We had the top floor which offered us a nice view of the city. Complimentary bath salts to use in our bathtub were also a pleasant surprise. Lobby was also beautiful, aesthetic and comfortable - for both food, coffee or working. Washing machine was excellent - though it took 3 hours to wash and dry a medium sized load. Shoutout to the staff member always decked out in a suit (not sure if he was the manager) for the warm welcome and travel tips. He added such a delightful touch to our stay.
